Did You Know...

... that Valkyrie are aiming at the indoor world cup next year?

Valkyrie delegation at the Italian Indoor Nationals
posted Dec 9th, 2025 - The NSL News covered Italy’s national indoor championship in its update on November 11th. It was one of Europe’s earliest indoor events following the outdoor season and even took place before the completion of the USPA Nationals 2025. The Flyspot Open 2025 was held the same weekend, where two of the top contenders for next year’s indoor world cup—Skywalkers Most and Fly X Amnesya—posted their first indoor scores of the new winter season.

Both teams represented their countries, the Czech Republic and Italy, at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2025 in April and are expected to do so again at Weembi Lille in April 2026. At Paraclete XP, both nations fielded national teams only in 4-way Open, but this will change at least for Italy at the next indoor world cup. An all-female team appeared on the AAA Class leaderboard at Italy’s national indoor championship in October, and that team—Valkyrie—plans to compete at Weembi Lille in April 2026 as well. Valkyrie placed 3rd in the AAA Class and earned the qualification to represent Italy in 4-way Women at the FAI Indoor World Cup.

The Valkyrie members are not new to international 4-way competition. Daniela d’Angelo and Lucia Fattori previously competed together on Fire Phoenix, Italy’s 4-way Women team between November 2022 and October 2023. Together, they represented Italy in 4-way Women at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2023 (with Antonella Chiarin and Paola Vana).

Fire Phoenix at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2023
Lucia Fattori was not in the lineup that competed for Italy at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024. Tatjana Mura filled the open slot at that event, and she now reunites with Daniela d’Angelo and Lucia Fattori in the new Valkyrie lineup. Only Antonietta Passarelli is new to AAA Class and international 4-way competition, taking the inside center slot.

Tatjana Mura trained and competed with Italy’s Bandits from 2021 to 2023 before joining Fire Phoenix for the indoor world cup in China last year. She now takes the point slot for Valkyrie. Daniela d’Angelo (Tail) and Lucia Fattori (Outside Center) continue in their established positions.

The NSL News introduced Fire Phoenix and the 2022 lineup in its update on 21 December 2022. Daniela d’Angelo and Lucia Fattori launched their new 4-way Women project with Antonella Chiarin and Paola Vana at the Flyspot Open 2022, followed by the ISR Grand Prix 2022 that same month. The same lineup attended two more indoor meets in early 2023 before representing Italy at the indoor world championship at the Hurricane Factory Tatralandia in Slovakia.

Valkyrie/Fire Phoenix at the FAI Indoor World Championship 2023 and the Italian Indoor Nationals 2023
AA Class team Valkyrie at the World Challenge 2019
The NSL News published another update on Fire Phoenix on 30 October 2023, shortly after Italy’s national indoor championship and the qualification event for the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024. The 2023 lineup achieved a new team record average (18.6) and appeared well-prepared for the upcoming winter indoor season, culminating in the world cup in April 2024. Unfortunately, the lineup changed again before the main event, and Fire Phoenix returned to the 16+ average range from 2023.

The new Valkyrie lineup—three former Fire Phoenix members (Daniela d’Angelo, Lucia Fattori, Tatjana Mura) plus Antonietta Passarelli—has now started strongly with an 18.8 average at the end of October. Former NMP PCH HayaBusa member Michele Silvi, outdoor world champion of 2021, is coaching the team and is likely aiming for the 20+ average range. Daniela d’Angelo in particular may be chasing this milestone, having competed with the original Valkyrie lineup in AA Class in 2019, finishing with a 14.7 average and 9th place at the World Challenge 2019.

Valkyrie will visit Weembi Lille in March 2026 for the FS Weembi Cup to familiarize themselves with the venue ahead of the indoor world cup one month later. None of the current team members have competed at Weembi Lille before. Although France and Italy are neighboring countries, this will still mean two significant trips in March and April next year.
