Did You Know...

... that the winner is 10-1-22?

posted Oct 3rd, 2009 - It was a long story with a lot of details that covered the slow sequences. Several readers still made it all the way through and then voted in the poll. The winner is Airspeed's Round 10 at the Valentine's Meet 2009 (10-1-22) that the world champions scored an 18-pointer for.

Airspeed's 18-pointer for Round 7 (2-14-20) at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2009 did not get any votes.

Neither did the French team's slowest sequences in Round 7 (15-13-18) and Round 8 (21-2-20) at the FAI World Cup 2009.

However, these three 3-block sequences were the last ones that both teams performed at their last 10-round outdoor competition. NSL-TV found the videos of these jumps, and they have been uploaded for reviews.

France starts one of the two slow sequences
All the slow 3-block sequences that were mentioned in the recent NSL News coverage are still not as slow as it can really get. The NSL News took a closer look at the complete dive pool and all its 16 blocks and found a few sequences, which seem to be even slower than the ones mentioned in the story and in the poll.

This brought up a little project for all teams that have to train the most technical and quite challenging part of the dive pool anyway. The NSL News picked one of the slowest sequences possible and now asks the teams to jump it and provide the best videos.

The chosen sequence is 8-12-20. Teams can jump the sequence as often as wished. It does not have to be at a competition, and even wind tunnel videos will be accepted. There are no limitations, and the goal is obviously the highest score for this very slow sequence.

There is an additional incentive for the top teams. The first team that will post a 20-pointer for this sequence and provides the video evidence for it will receive a free team set of NSL Gloves. This counts only for outdoor jumps though.

Even videos of 19-pointers will already be recognized and posted on NSL-TV, and each team is welcome to provide the footage of its best performance for this sequence, no matter what score it is.

The NSL News also created a new poll that raises the question if any team will be able to post a 20-pointer for the chosen sequence this year, whether in training or in competition. The same question will most likely come up again next year...

Slowest Possible Sequence in the Dive Pool
