Did You Know...

... that NSL-TV videos will be uploaded later?

Parachutes over Spaceland
posted Oct 12th, 2009 - This morning, the teams were first released until 10:30 am, then until 2:30 pm, as nothing indicated any chances of jumping conditions at any time soon. However, all of a sudden the cloud cover broke, and a huge hole of blue skies was teasing teams, competitors and officials.

It was about a 1-hour hole, and the competition was not ready to use it to the full extent, as most teams did not plan to be at the dropzone at that time.

It took a while to organize and manifest the present teams, which then had to be put on an official call. Eventually, one load made it up in time before the cloud cover came back and it began to rain. The teams are now back to a stand-by status.

Cherie Schuch chats with the NSL News
The good news first: the first round of the Intermediate Class competition is almost complete. The weather situation is changing quickly between sunshine and rain. However, this is better than nothing.

Now the bad news: the public internet connection is not able to support the uploading of any video files.

The NSL News has access only to the public internet network, which is extremely busy, especially at times when the teams are not jumping. There is another separate network that supports the host's own efforts and is not available for the NSL News.

It is difficult enough to upload a story and photos, it is impossible for videos. Too bad, as some very exciting footage is waiting.

The next round of NSL TALK features Perris Fury members Christy Frikken and Chris Farina, Airspeed's Craig Girard, Golden Knight Brian "BK" Krause and Paraclete's Kirk Verner. They talk about the competition draw, beginning with the slow Round 1 and the fast Round 6, where Craig Girard expects to maybe get to a 50-point highscore. He was more or less serious about it...

The NSL News will upload all these videos at the end of the day from the hotel where the internet connection is strong enough. Hopefully, the host will eventually open up the other network connection for the NSL News, which would allow the uploads. In the meantime, more footage will be captured and stored, more stories will follow. Stay tuned or come back soon.
