Did You Know...

... that Airspeed followed up on Craig Girard's prediction?

NSL Talk with world champions
posted Oct 13th, 2009 - The last missing video can now be reviewed, as well. It it actually very interesting, as it is another round of NSL Talk, and the guests are also discussing the competition draw, including the 3-block challenge of Round 1.

Perris Fury members Christy Frikken and Chris Farina, Airspeed's Craig Girard, Golden Knight Brian "BK" Krause and Paraclete's Kirk Verner took the time to chat with the NSL News in front of the hangar, still without much activity in the landing area.

This has obviously changed now, as the whole place is very busy to use the weather situation.

Arizona Airspeed in the team room
Round 1 had more relevance for the top contenders as it may usually seem to have. The 3-block sequence was the entry challenge into another 20-point series in a 10-round meet for any of the top teams. Craig Girard mentioned earlier that he expects a 20-pointer as the highscore for the round, maybe even a 21-pointer.

Airspeed obviously followed up on it and turned out to be the only team that got to the 20 points. Chances are great from here on that this could become a new record average.

Round 1 had the slowest sequence of the competition, as the other scores show.

It was a very strong and meaningful Airspeed statement. What now for the rest of the field? Hope for the best and that Round 6 will come and offer an opportunity to make up for lost ground? Mark Kirkby said that his team has put training efforts into the fast sequences after losing these a few times in the past.

The scores of Round 2 will show whether Airspeed just peaked in Round 1 and Spaceland Force XP and Perris Fury will still have a chance. If Airspeed follows up with another strong round, then even the hope for a change in Round 6 may fade. The scores for Round 2 should follow soon.
