Perris Fury had the best performance of all AAA Class teams and deserved the highscore for the round.
Spaceland Force XP completed 22 points in time, as well, but lost the Snowflake in the judging room. It was obviously a complete exit formation, and videographer Eric Boyd missed the complete picture by an inch. Bad luck.
Arizona Airspeed had a major glitch building the Snowflake of Block 1 on the second page. However, the world champions fixed it, picked the speed back up carefully and finished with a 21-pointer. The 23 would have been in reach without the glitch.
Important thing: the 20+ series is still intact...
The public wireless internet becomes so busy at times that it was almost impossible to upload stories, scores and photos. The NSL News was almost ready to give up reporting during the day when unexpected help came up.
Airspeed's Craig Girard heard of the difficulties and offered space in the Airspeed team room. The team rooms at Spaceland have their own wireless network, which is not as jammed as the public network is all the time.
Competition life goes on after the world record round, and the teams are in the middle of Round 7. Airspeed still has a 5-point lead with four rounds to go. Perris Fury fell further behind after the 43-pointer in Round 6.
The Perris team had hoped to catch up and get closer to the very top in the fast round, and it did not work out. Fury completed 46 points in time and had three point deductions. It will require four peak rounds to get back in touch with Spaceland Force XP. By the way, the last results of the world record poll had all three top contenders almost with the same chances. The Spaceland team eventually did it. Round 7 is in progress.
