Did You Know...

... that the 4-way medal winners joined forces in 16-way?

posted Oct 17th, 2009 - The double gold victory for Arizona Airspeed at the 2009 USPA National Skydiving Championships has already turned into a triple gold situation.

Airspeed won the 16-way competition without much trouble, as well. It would be no surprise if it turned out to be another 4-gold national championship for the Arizona team. It would not be the first time.

The 16-way lineup consisted of the four 4-way champions and two members of the 8-way lineup (John Hamilton, Dennis Rook). Jack Jefferies was the alternate in 16-way. The complete Perris Fury lineup made it a 10-way. Three Spaceland Force XP members joined the 16-way team (Shannon Pilcher, Thomas Hughes, Ian Bobo), Gary Beyer's shoulder still does not allow him to jump. He was the only 4-way medal winner who was not in this 16-way lineup.

The three other 16-way spots went to Paraclete XP's 8-way bronze medalist John Eagle, former Airspeed 4-way and 8-way world champion himself, his Paraclete XP team mate Todd Hawkins and Amphibious Attack Tiger Scott Latinis.

4-way and 8-way champion Steve Nowak was filming the team. He also provided the 16-way competition video that can now be reviewed. It shows the Airspeed reunion lineup in fun action.

The 10-way competition is the last event at the USPA Nationals 2009 where Airspeed tries to collect another set of gold medals. This event is now in full swing.
