Did You Know...

... that 4-way and 100-way teams share the SkyQuest 2009 planes now?

100-way exit at SkyQuest 2009
posted Nov 20th, 2009 - The 4-way teams that are adding another meet to the 2009 season have now joined the action at SkyQuest 2009 and compete for the NSL Championship awards.

The AA Class teams and Rookie Class teams have already completed two rounds at the end of Friday. Teiwaz will compete with the PD Ninjas in the AAA Class beginning tomorrow morning. The 4-way teams take turns with the two 100-way teams.

Fog delayed the start of the 100-way Kaleidoscope Dives this morning. As soon as the sun had burned off the fall fog the jumping conditions were next to perfect. The Falcons and Eagles tried to make up for the lost time and turned the planes around quickly.

The competition draw for the 4-way competition was scheduled for noon, and the present teams and competitors pulled the numbers and letters for the sequences by themselves out of one of the NSL trophies. It turned out to become a draw on the slower side.

Russian 4-way competitor Dmitry Friedman, who has been captaining Cross Road in the past two years, tried to help the teams to a faster sequence by pulling some of the numbers and letters. He was not much luckier than the other 4-way competitors. Dmitry Friedman finishes his skydiving season as a member of the 100-way Eagle Team.

Mario Mauro and Janne Wynne are mastering their double duties at SkyQuest 2009 very well. Both are competing in 4-way, Mario Mauro with Teiwaz Eagle and Janna Wynne with Perris Jimani. They are also members of BJ Worth's Eagle Team in the 100-way event.

It makes it easier for both to manage their back-to-back loads, as they are in the same 100-way team. Now they also share the same jump plane in 4-way where they compete against each other. Janna Wynne is currently five points ahead of Teiwaz after two rounds.

The Teiwaz Eagle lineup with Mario Mauro signed up for the AA Class competition since the newest Teiwaz member, Ed Ganley, has not made a jump for over five years. He tested his equipment yesterday with the first jump after the long break, made another 2-way on Thursday and then entered the competition with Round 1 today. He used to train and compete with team Solidair from Ohio.

Bob Schindler and Kurt Gaebel complete the Teiwaz Eagle lineup. The 5-point deficit to Janna Wynne's Jimani lineup with Perris Fury member Christy Frikken was mostly caused by trouble with the exits. The Teiwaz members are hoping to be closer to Jimani as soon as the exits become more solid...

Rookie Class team DiZaster
The Teiwaz AAA Class lineup (Jim "Bu" Klinge, Rodney Cruce, Bob Byrne, Robert Chromy) will face a lineup with more Teiwaz members of the past. Chris Ash and Nick Grillet have already competed with other Teiwaz lineups. Gilles Dutrisac and Chris Ash trained and competed with Sebastian Tempest this year. Nick Grillet's father Sandy, Northern Plains Skydiving League Director, completes the PD Ninjas lineup.

Two of the three Rookie Class teams from three different states are already in a serious battle for the top spot. Relativity from Colorado and DiZaster from Florida will most likely continue with this exciting competition throughout the 10-round meet. Hot Flash from Texas is the third Rookie Class team in DeLand.
