Did You Know...

... that Christy Frikken's Moxie team won the Team Building Week's 16-way Challenge?

Team buildign with Fury member Chris Farina
posted Dec 14th, 2009 - Perris Valley Skydiving in California, home of Perris Fury, once again hosted its annual team-building workshop over the Thanksgiving weekend. It's a 3-day event for formation skydivers geared towards helping individuals find potential teammates and sometimes just friends to jump with for the upcoming season.

As in previous years, Perris Fury hosted the event and offered free coaching, organizing and the opportunity to jump with the team members, Chris Farina, Christy Frikken, Josh Hall and Uli Steuwe. The event has grown to a point where potential team members have scheduled it in to be there every year, and it attracts participants from around the country.

Friday and Saturday of the event usually offer a round-robin type atmosphere where individuals trade partners and coaches various times throughout the day. Mother Nature threatened a few times this year but never really took hold.

Extra tunnel fun with Fury coaches
The skydives have the main focus on 4-way. However, because of the buzz created by the Fury8 project over the last few years, many of the participants were very interested in doing some larger formations, as well. Along with the jumps during the day, a few individuals also took advantage of the local wind tunnel and had some extra fun with the Fury coaches in the evening.

Besides the team building camp, some additional jumpers arrived on the dropzone early Sunday morning for the annual 16-way competition. The 16-way event is always a lot of fun and has built a small rivalry. Dan BC and Christy Frikken challenged each other in a personal competition leading up to the weekend. Christy Frikken built an all female "Moxie" style team, while Dan BC challenged her with an all male team. Josh Hall organized a third team to join the 16-way battle. Unfortunately for Dan, he was not able to pull this competition out and finished second to the women.

Busy weekend at Perris Valley Skydiving
Fury member Chris Farina reported that all who attended left after having had a great time, making some really fun skydives and meeting some new friends and potential teammates. He added that the participants also picked up many great ideas for the upcoming competition season.

Perris Fury members are currently helping teams and individuals at all levels to build their lineups for the upcoming season. Interested skydivers can get directly in touch with Chris Farina for additional information.

Perris Fury offers once again several other projects for the 2010 season, such as the Fury Free Week, the Fury8 Project, the upcoming tunnel camp in Bedford, the P3 camps and the P3 Power Play. More information can be found at the Perris Furt website.
