The first story explained that Bodyflight Bedford owner Paul Mayer plans to make the event even bigger this year. He opened the competition for the A Class teams and has continued to improve the facilities.
The same story already mentioned that the incredible spa at Bodyflight Bedford is now ready for use. The NSL News had already taken photos at earlier events when Paul Mayer's Leisure Centre was still under construction. The World Challenge 2010 will be the first event where the participants can take full advantage of this special place.
The Flow House is a wave shaped dome made of a springy trampoline type surface. Gallons of water are pumped over the riding surface to create a perfect perpetual wave about four inches deep. Surfers can then use the specially designed flow boards on the water's surface. Surfers can move up and down the surface in the Flow House, cut turns and perform other tricks.
The Flow Rider itself is 12.8 meters wide and 16.15 meters long with a dividing wall down the middle. This allows two people to board and surf at at the same time. Bodyflight Bedford visitors will surely not be bored after flying in the wind tunnel...
He is offering a total of £17,000 for the whole event in 2010. This amount will now be shared in a different way between 4-way and Freeflying competition. The 4-way teams will compete for £11,000 (approx. $17,772.97 US), instead of £10,000 in the past, while the Freeflyers still have £9,000 in their jackpot.
The 4-way winner will once again collect £5,000 (Arizona Airspeed in 2009), the team in second place wins £3,000 (Perris Fury in 2009). The cash for the 3rd place goes up from £1,500 to £2,000 (Hayabusa Defence in 2009). The team in 4th place is going to cash in £1,000 after £500 in 2009 (XL).
