Did You Know...

... that DeLand Dunamis includes former Rookie Class champions?

NSL Talk with DeLand Dunamis
posted Jan 25th, 2010 - The NSL News visit at Skydive Sebastian for Becca's Bootie Boogie last weekend eventually related to another story that covered this year's plans of the 8-way team Perris Moxie. The Moxie story was posted on 21 January 2010.

The story mentioned that former Sebastian Tempest member Kris Peterson will be back in the Moxie lineup this year. Another story, which announced Becca's Bootie Boogie on 18 January 2010, also mentioned that Kris Peterson would help to organize in Sebastian last weekend.

The NSL News found her at the event site, where she was actually mostly working with her new 4-way team DeLand Dunamis. A short weather hold provided the opportunity to introduce the new lineup, with player coach Kris Peterson.

Rookie Class champion of 2008: Cold Turkey
The DeLand Dunamis lineup includes two former members of a Rookie Class team from DeLand, Renee Power and Jim Prochaska. They won the NSL Rookie Class Championship at SkyQuest 2008, together with Fraser Feltner and Hal Spence.

Cold Turkey competed at three meets of the Florida Skydiving League in 2008 (8.6 - 10.8 - 12.3) and then battled it out with Carolina Groove over ten rounds for the championship in DeLand. Cold Turkey won by one single point with a 10.2 average.

Cold Turkey did not come back in 2009 although the team members continued to be very active in the sport.

However, it took another year until Renee Power and Jim Prochaska put together a new lineup.

DeLand Dunamis lineup
DeLand Dunamis has one new team member, Rick Lucas, who has not been on a team so far. He has had excellent coaching by Kris Peterson though and is ready to skip the two beginner classes, the Rookie Class completely and the A Class quickly.

Renee Power and Jim Prochaska will also visit the A Class only very shortly. Dunamis is currently training the eight blocks of the A Class and plans to compete in the same category at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2010.

This will be the only competition with the first set of eight blocks for Dunamis. The new team will move on and up into the AA Class competition after the Shamrock Showdown. The 16 blocks will then be tested at some of the Florida Skydiving League events before the DeLand team competes at the USPA Nationals 2010.
