Connell currently prepares the launching of the 2005 season, which includes a tunnel camp at SkyVenture Orlando in February and a Skills Camp in April in Greensburg. The NSL puts together the tunnel camp for Connell, while Team Fastrax helps to run the Skills Camp in April.
The exact date for the ISL/MESL tunnel camp is February 21 - 25. The NSL used to offer its own NSL Tunnel Training camps, which where later integrated in the Tunnel.com operation. However, SkyVenture Orlando and Tunnelcamp.com agreed that the NSL can help Connell to set up the logistics for this camp. Connell might still have open slots. He can be contacted directly by e-mail. Here is Connell's message to his ISL/MESL teams and competitors:
Hey Everybody!
Welcome to 2005! First a few announcements to get to... First, some of you have noticed that the Indiana Skydiving League has grown beyond its original boundaries! We are now the MidEastern Skydiving League!!! With meets and/or events in 3 states this year it just made no sense to retain the old name. Next, we have a new Judge coming in this year. Deanna Hesterburg is a USPA National Judge who recently moved to southern Illinois. Deanna has a significant amount of experience judging in the Texas League. She promises to be a huge asset to the region in general and the League in particular. Anne Shackleford, our judge of the last several years has decided to retire from judging. She will be missed. Skydive Greensburg's website has a new forum feature and the webmaster has been kind enough to set up a sub-forum for the League. Thanks DJ! I recommend everyone go check it out! I am looking for someone to serve as an Assistant League Director. Ideally, this should be someone familiar with competition, but not on a team. The idea is to serve during meets to field questions from competitors and act as the go-between with manifest. Recommendations and/or volunteers should reach me at this email address. Meet 5 this year will occur after USPA Nationals and I am seriously considering a non-standard format. This is open for discussion and your feedback is encouraged. |
Working through the NSL, I have been able to secure some tunnel time for the MANY requests/inquiries I have had. Here is the scoop: Who - YOU! Individuals as well as teams are welcome!
