Did You Know...

... that Skytrax aims at SkyQuest 2010?

Skytrax in action
posted Jan 29th, 2010 - The NSL News reported on 19 January 2010 that the Dutch team Dynamic Fource has launched a busier training and competition season, as the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2010 is coming up as the main goal this year.

The team's Center Outside, Paul Hofstee, has even more team projects on his 2010 agenda. He is also one of the two player coaches of the international team Skytrax. Former South African bronze medalist of 1997 with DeLand Equanimity and DeLand Majik 4-way world champion of 2004, Solly Williams, is the other player coach.

Solly Williams has the Center Inside slot for Skytrax and shares the slot with former Hayabusa member Sven Ibens when the team is in Europe.

Training fun in DeLand
Petra van Overveld from the Netherlands is the Skytrax Point. She started her 4-way career with team Whooops in 2004 and competed with the team in the Dutch Rookie Class competition (1.7 - 3.7 - 5.9) of 2005. She continued with A Class team Yottsu in 2007 and moved up into the AA Class with the same team in 2008.

She made her first contact with the AAA Class dive pool when she trained and competed with the all-female Spark lineup last year. She was also on the Belgian team Phantom Fource in 2009 where she trained and competed in the Center Outside slot.

Cathrine Tunes from Norway completes the lineup in the Tail slot. She was a member of the Norwegian national 4-way team in IPC's female category that competed at the World Meet 2006 in Germany. Valkyrie, with Anne Simone Botten (Point), Cathrine Tunes (Tail), Kristin Opoien (Center Inside) and Trude Sviggum (Center Outside) continued in 2007 and represented Norway at the military CISM world championship.

Skytrax lineup with Solly Williams
Paul Hofstee reported that Skytrax plans to make a total of 250 training jumps in 2010 and has scheduled seven hours of wind tunnel training in Rosendaal.

The first camp with Center Inside Solly Williams and more than 80 training jumps was already completed at Skydive DeLand in December 2009. Sven Ibens will have the tunnel slot in Rosendaal and the other training jumps in Europe.

Main goal of the 2010 season is the NSL Championship at SkyQuest 2010 where the team will compete as a guest team. The plans for the trip to Florida in November have already been completed. Solly Williams will then be back in the driver's seat.

This is Paul Hofstee's second team project of the 2010 season, but it is still not all that he has on his 4-way agenda this year. The NSL News will get back to his third team project very soon.
