posted Jul 22nd, 2005 - New NSL-TV will be added today, most likely a new round of the FSL June meet with Black Magick, then a new round of the SSL July meet. It has become challenging for NSL-TV to keep up with the footage that arrives in the NSL office. It used to be different in the past when this feature was not as popular as it has become.

In addition, the regional NSL directors have recently provided more and more footage of the monthly meets. It surely is very exciting to be able to offer a broad view of the NSL events. However, getting the video files ready for the website is time consuming and requires a lot of web space. The NSL will continue to add as many jumps to NSL-TV as possible.

In the meantime, a decision had to be made how to proceed with the large amount of available video footage of the Malevsky Memorial Cup 2005. The Malevsky Cup management made a digital copy of the original footage available for the NSL.

Producing a DVD requires serious efforts. At the same time, the NSL News is aware of the fact that many viewers are eager to watch the jumps on a higher quality level than the one offered for streaming on NSL-TV. Finally, the result of the decision making process was the plan to offer two different versions of the Malevsky Cup 2005 DVD.

The first version is already available and has now been added to the items in the NSL Shop. The jumps of all teams in all FS events (8-way, 4-way Open, 4-way Women) were copied onto this DVD in no specific order. The rounds and events on this DVD follow the event's progress, day by day over a total of the four event days. This makes for a total of 350 competition jumps in a quality that is significantly better than the jumps on NSL-TV. This simple version comes for free with the purchase of a pair of NSL Gloves, or sells separately for $19.95 plus shipping and handling.

There is a second version in the works, which will have a navigation menu for an easy selection of the jumps. It will show the top teams of each event with a very high quality level. The eight top teams of the 4-way Open event were selected for this version of the Malevsky Cup 2005 DVD. France, USA and Russia will be featured in 8-way. France and Russia represent the 4-way Women's event.

The menu of this DVD will separate the three Formation Skydiving events of the Malevsky Cup 2005 and then present each round according to the final standings from bottom to top. It is also planned to offer each competition jump as a separate file to make navigation even easier.

Hopefully, the work will be completed next week and shipping can begin soon. This DVD will be offered for $39.95 including shipping and handling and will be added to the NSL Shop as soon as it is available.

The first and easy version is ready for shipping, and orders can now be placed. The combination of a purchase of NSL Gloves with a free copy of the easy version of the DVD is probably the best deal of the year. NSL Gloves always make a great gift, as well, you can never have too many of them. The more sophisticated version of the Malevsky Cup 2005 DVD will come for free with the purchase of two pairs.
