Did You Know...

... that Airspeed and Hayabusa have an uphill battle ahead?

The Silver Gate to scoring points in Bedford
posted Apr 3rd, 2010 - Well well - the leaderboard surely looks very different after Round 2. The scores are posted, and the dust has settled. Has it really? The World Challenge 2010 got some extra spice, as all of a sudden each coming round has become even more important, at least for Arizona Airspeed. The 4-way world champions have dropped from 1st to 6th place...

The judges are now working on Round 3, while the teams have already completed Round 4. The NSL TV camera was late and missed Arizona Airspeed's Round 4. All the missing videos will later be provided by CamScore, and the NSL News will follow up with the actual competition videos.

However, the videos of NMP-PCH Hayabusa and Perris Fury, the leader after Round 2, are a part of the new video. The NSL TV camera also captured Round 4 of the Norwegian national 4-way team in the female category, Polaris. Then the focus was on Lise Nansen, former DeLand Norgies member and triple bronze medalist at the World Meets of 1999, 2001 and 2003. She competes in Bedford with two other Norgies and her husband Nikolai Nansen.

Uphill battle for Arizona Airspeed
The score sheet for Round 2 provides some more details of what happened to the top teams in this very special round. Aerokart Deep Blue confirmed once again the team's race to the top of the Open Class leaderboard with a clean 59-pointer.

The French national B-Team Aerokart PCs has to work hard to fend off the four French girls. They did it successfully in this round with a clean 62-pointer, the 3rd highest score of the round. Only the French national team Aerodyne Cypres Maubeuge scored higher (63) and Perris Fury, of course.

Paraclete XP4 lost four points. XL had a 1-point deduction besides the meltdown that stopped the scoring at 57 points with seven more seconds of working time to go. Airspeed lost only one point and simply had a bad round, together with Hayabusa who lost two points. Both teams now have an uphill battle ahead for the remainder of the meet.
