... that the World Meet 2010 plans have changed for Chicas and ISB Air?

New German national team in female 4-way: ISB Air
posted May 13th, 2010 - The NSL News story on 10 May 2010 covered the first three rounds of the female 4-way competition at the World Challenge 2010. The story provided additional information of the German team ISB Air.

Today's NSL News story continues with the next three rounds of the 4-way teams in the unofficial female category in Bedford.

The story also continues with news from Germany, as things have changed in the meantime.

Not only that ISB Air member Pia Weingart has recovered and is ready for training again, her team has also recently been sanctioned as the German national 4-way team for the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2010. What has happened?

Chicas and Incognito Leutkirch at the World Cup 2009

The Road to Russia

The Chicas (Petra Bärenfänger, Sylvia Maier, Nina Kuebler, Marion Thomas) had won the German Nationals 2009 over Incognito Leutkirch (174 - 169) and qualified as the German national 4-way team in the female category for the World Cup 2009 and the 2010 season. The Chicas confirmed their small advantage at the World Cup in Prostejov (163 - 161) and won the silver medals two points ahead of Incognito (Steffi Dichmann, Sarah Hajooze, Anne Heinrich, Pia Weingart) in 3rd place.

Nina Kuebler left the Chicas at the end of the 2009 season, and Antje Prochnow took her slot. The new Chicas lineup competed at the Dubai Championship 2010 and won the silver medals and $15,000 cash with a 13.6 average.

Incognito Leutkirch had a personnel change at the end of the 2009 season, as well. Former Chicas member Susa Serra replaced Steffi Dichmann, and the team came back as ISB Air for the 2010 season. The NSL News introduced the new lineup with the story on 10 February 2010.

Chicas at the Dubai Championship 2010
The new Chicas lineup posted the first scores in Dubai, while the new incomplete ISB Air lineup competed at the World Challenge where Gary Smith had to replace Pia Weingart. Circumstances in the Chicas environment did and do not allow the team to move forward in 2010 as it was originally planned, and the members eventually decided to step back and hand the slot as the national team over to ISB Air.

The German skydiving federation (DFV) could easily agree with this decision, as both teams were so close to each other. ISB Air will most likely represent Germany at the World Meet 2010 in Russia at least as well as the Chicas would have done.

In fact, the scores at the World Challenge 2010 indicate that ISB Air will continue with the new lineup on the scoring and performance level where Incognito Leutkirch of 2009 was at the end of year.

Extra training scheduled to prepare for the World Meet 2010
The 2010 season was supposed to be a light one for ISB Air. The young team was planning to focus on the German Nationals in 2011 and then on the World Meet in 2012. The team members were still excited when they heard about the opportunity to go to Menzelinsk in Russia this year.

They will now do everything possible to be well prepared for the major competition this year.

Gary Smith will still be in charge of getting the team in shape after Pia Weingart's return. ISB Air has now scheduled a week of training in July on Texel that was not planned before. Texel is the home for coach Gary Smith, and Center Outside Susa Serra is working there, as well.

Videographer Dominik Falk has also been informed that he has more work than planned for and that there is an additional trip to Russia.
