Did You Know...

... that the Fastrax website offers sophisticated free features for 4-way teams and competitors?

Jump Institute
posted Jul 31st, 2005 - The Fastrax banner on the NSL website has made room for an advertisement promoting a service that is related to the activities of the whole Team Fastrax staff, as well. John Hart's brother David is heading a special consulting service with a vision that reaches out to the corporate business world, the "Jump Institute":

"We offer learning opportunities and services that educate and inspire people to action. Based on powerful skydiving-related metaphors, our insightful seminars, in-depth training sessions and comprehensive supporting material will stimulate organizations to action, and ultimately help facilitate meaningful increases in your organizational effectiveness and performance."

Fastrax website
Even though the NSL website does not offer the direct link to the Team Fastrax website for a little while, the direct on-line connection with Fastrax is still well worth a bookmark and also a regular visit. The Fastrax banner with the link was not only placed on skyleague.com due to the fact that John Hart is a strong NSL supporter. The Fastrax website offers much more than only the introduction of the team itself.

In fact, a closer look at and navigation through the whole Fastrax website might positively surprise everybody who has not made the effort yet. There are several free features available, which can be very helpful for every interested 4-way competitor. A serious 4-way websurfer will find out that there is a lot of pure 4-way passion and enthusiasm behind the actual website features, along with the motivation to share information and expertise with the whole 4-way community.

Flash animations of random formations and blocks
The first three links introduce the three different teams and the members of the Fastrax Project: Fastrax, Fastrax Select and Fastrax Swoop. This section of the website naturally includes services that the teams and their members can offer to the skydiving community, including coaching, slot rates for training, skills camps, etc. The business of the Fastrax Demo/Tandem Team is explained, as well.

The special services and features for the 4-way community can be found at the link called "Media", and then especially at the "4-way Dive Pool". A Flash Player program presents the 16 Random Formations and 22 Blocks of the whole dive pool, the blocks in motion, and it offers a basic continuity plan with four different colors. This program is similar to the one that used to be available at Omniskore.com or to the "FS Motion Coach" that was offered in the NSL Shop at times.

Best of Fastrax block techniques
The "Block Videos" of the "Media" section offer similar features as the "Arizona Airspeed Mind Maps" or the "Best of DeLand Majik" DVD's. Fastrax presents the team's best techniques block by block, first each block technique in real speed, then in slow motion, then in real speed once again.

Fastrax recently added a new feature to this part of the special 4-way service. The "Exit Block Videos" on the same page show the 22 exits and subterminal techniques also in numerical order. The page of this block section allows to watch the same block in terminal speed in one frame and the subterminal technique in the other frame at the same time. The viewer can also choose to watch two different blocks in these two frames.

Fastrax meet videos
The next part of the "Media" section offers competition jumps of Team Fastrax at meets the team has attended, "Videos". This part is currently updated until the June meet of the Mideast Skydiving League and also includes the USPA Championship 2004 and the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2005.

"Documents" of the "Media" section include colored print-out versions of the current IPC dive pool, printed information on slots and skills camps, plus the "Skydive Lessons" for Skydiving and Life. These lessons consist of twelve practical and funny hints how to prepare for success, such as for "Shortcuts". Skydiving: "Stop looking for an easy path to improved fitness. The route to improvement is to stay the course - consistent training over time." Life: "Most career shortcuts don't get you anywhere faster. Except fired."

There is also a "News" part at the "Media" section, which is currently limited to Team Fastrax news. There is nothing like the NSL News anyway... However, the free features at the Fastrax website are very valuable tools for 4-way teams and competitors. They can never replace real training and coaching services. They can still help in many cases to find specific technical and logistical information. The direct link to the Fastrax website can still be found at the Fastrax team page on skyleague.com.
