Did You Know...

... that Evolution from Italy is the current AAA Class leader?

Evolution Cremona at the World Challenge 2010
posted May 24th, 2010 - Last weekend's first multi-league meet weekend included the first 4-way competition in Italy this year. Livio Piccolo, Point of the Italian national 4-way team Sinapsi, is running the skydiving center in Fano and has been organizing this "Shake Meet" for several years.

The scores of three of the five events last weekend are posted at the moment, and the winner of the small competition in Italy, Evolution Cremona, is currently on top of the AAA Class leaderboard.

The outdoor competition in Fano was the second meet for Evolution this year, as the Italian team had attended the World Challenge 2010, as well. Evolution had no direct AAA Class competition in Fano last weekend. However, three other Italian AAA Class teams had competed in Bedford, and Evolution had a great battle with Area 51 that ended with both teams tied in 32nd place, together with UK team Kaizen.

Italian battle between Evolution and Area 51 at the World Challenge 2010
Evolution at the Italian Nationals 2009
Sebastian Aceti, Giovanni Carne, Massimo Venini and Marcello Zulian competed for Evolution at the World Challenge 2010. Area 51 had Antonella Chiarin, Massimo De Gregorio, Igor Galvan and Stefano Rossi in the lineup.

The same Evolution lineup was founded in 2007, and the team posted an 11.2 average at the Italian Nationals. Evolution then attended three meets in 2008 and finished with a 12.6 average at the national championship. The 15.0 average at the Italian Nationals 2009 is the best team result so far.

This year, the same Evolution lineup of 2007 launched the season with the 16.2 average at the World Challenge 2010 and followed up with a 12.5 outdoor average last weekend. The 8-pointer in Round 5 kept the average significantly lower than expected.

Area 51 likes the NSL Gloves at the World Challenge 2010
Area 51 is only a wind tunnel team so far. "Tunnel Alien" Igor Galvan started the project at the World Challenge 2009 where he recruited an international lineup with former DeLand Norgies Lise Nansen and Pal Kolbenstvedt, plus Alex Jordaan from South Africa. The Area 51 lineup of 2009 finished with an 18.9 average.

Four Italian competitors were in the Area 51 lineup at the World Challenge 2010. The NSL News had introduced the team with the story on 5 January 2010.

Evolution attended a World Challenge at Bodyflight Bedford for the first time and had this exciting battle with Area 51. The other two Italian teams, Ex3ma and The Zoo had their own battle in the middle of the field. The NSL News will get back to this Italian affair later.
