The Founding Fathers have come back with different lineups once in a while ever since. Last weekend, Dan BC and John Hamilton teamed up with Paraclete XP8 member Todd Hawkins and Bodyflight Storm 4-way world champion of 2008, Hannah Betts.
The 17.2 average still stands for the 3rd place on the recent AAA Class leaderboard. The Founding Fathers gave SDC Rhythm XP a great competition throughout the first four rounds and fell behind in the last two rounds of the 6-round meet. Judge Steve Miller provided the meet story.
With Mother Nature smiling on Perris Valley, it was wheels up early for four AAA Class teams and two AA Class teams at the June meet of the Southern California Skydiving League 2010 season. In what can best be described as a bust-fest for the early jumps, teams seemed to find their flashing and communication from Round 3 forward.
Founding Fathers John Hamilton and Dan BC recruited Todd Hawkins from Eloy/Paraclete and 2008 world champion in the female category, Hanna Betts, with a promise of no creeping for the day. With Fury members player-coaching a host of other teams, and Craig O'Brien providing the usual perfect video, there was no competition (other than the judge) for the prep-less Founding Fathers and their first place 17.2 average. With seven points left in the judging room, I'll leave it to the NSL audience to determine the winner!
With the score tied at 68 (11.3 average) after six rounds, we were forced to go to the judge's scorecard when it was determined that both teams had retired to the bar. With the highest single round score of 16 in Round 1, Team 104 took the silver while Jimani went home with the bronze.
Thanks to Perris Valley's Dan Cook and the rest of the manifest team for a fantastic day and for keeping teams on cycle despite a shortage of videographers. Thanks also to Perris Valley for raising the bar with respect to the quality of the judge's room.
I will be the first to petition to both USPA and IPC for a requirement that all judging be done on a 1080P flat screen of 42" or larger. These old eyes were happy to enjoy the updated technology and the accuracy it provided.
