Did You Know...

... that Jimani member Jim Earman got his Perris Fury Experience?

Perris Fury at the Midway Battle
posted Jul 6th, 2010 - The NSL News has a good reason to go back to Skydive Chicago's Midway Battle since the meet videos are now available, thanks to Skydive Chicago.

The NSL-TV coverage begins with Perris Fury's five competition jumps. The NSL News story on 29 June 2010 had provided the penalty information of all teams, and Fury had the biggest damage with a total of six point deductions. The audience can now compare the information with the videos.

The same story also provided feedback from Perris Fury. Center Inside Chris Farina told the NSL News how his team went through the latest competition, Fury's third one this year.

Perris Fury exit of Round 5
Chris Farina updated the NSL News later again. Fury had taken on the same competition draw in training and completed all ten rounds. This time, Fury finished with a 24.8 average after ten rounds. The scores for the first three rounds were now identical with Arizona Airspeed (29 - 28 - 33). Fury then lost a point in Round 4 and won it back in Round 5 (22 - 20).

Fury's scores of the second half of the meet (21 - 21 - 24 - 21 - 29) were all above the 20-point mark, which would allow Fury membership of the elite club of teams with no scores below 20 points in 10-round meets. Fury now has to show the same scoring level in a live competition, and the team knows that, as Chris Farina mentioned:

"This is obviously a lot different than doing it in a meet situation, but it's interesting anyways." The USPA Nationals 2010 would be a great time for Perris Fury to follow up in a real meet situation.

In the meantime, Perris Fury's activities have continued in other areas, as well. Two years ago, Fury ran a raffle, and the winner received two days of jumping with three team members, plus 15 minutes of tunnel time. All costs were covered by Perris Fury. Jim Earman, Perris Jimani founder, won the raffle by then.

Finally, three Fury members got around to work out the schedules and jump with Jim Earman for two days at the end of last month. Chris Farina, Christy Frikken and Josh Hall had their own slots, while Jim Earman filled the Tail slot for Uli Steuwe. The raffle lineup started in the wind tunnel on Thursday morning and moved to the DZ later on to complete ten jumps, including meet practice and some block drills.

Jim Earman's Fury adventure continued on Friday with a 10-round draw. Chris Farina said that he flew his slot like a champion, and the raffle lineup finished the 10-round meet with a 17.5 average. It was no surprise that Jim Earman had a great time, together with the three Fury members. The YouTube video shows one of the meet jumps with Jim Earman in the Tail slot.

Perris Fury is running the same raffle again this year and is selling 100 tickets for $100 each. Chris Farina said that about half of the tickets are already sold. Interested skydivers can contact him by email or purchase a ticket on Perris Fury's website and read more about the details. The drawing for the raffle will be held at the USPA Nationals 2010. Raffle participants don't have to be live on site to win their Perris Fury Experience.
