Did You Know...

... that the opening ceremony in Menzelinsk was interrupted by a storm?

In 3rd place after Round 2: Team Bodyflight
posted Aug 2nd, 2010 - The second competition day at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2010 begins with a correction. The teams in the female 4-way category have not even started Round 3 yet. They will also jump on Monday morning and catch up with the Open Class teams.

This means that the comments of the German team ISB Air were related to the performance in Round 2. Good news for the Germans since there was not really much damage at all. In fact, the NSL News mentioned earlier that ISB Air keeps in touch with the favorite teams from the United Kingdom and the USA. It will be interesting to see what the fast sequence of Round 3 will do to the female rankings.

Other than that, the schedule remains the same as posted yesterday. The 8-way teams are getting ready for Round 1.

The participants escaped just in time. The large crowd of spectators were still in the stadium to watch the show that continued after the opening ceremony of the world meet was over. The storm really hit with high winds, rain and lightning when the participants were back at the dropzone.

The NSL-TV camera captured the opening ceremony and the aftermath at the dropzone, as well, where people were hiding from the storm that blew over tents and furniture. It had a funny ending, as some people enjoyed the storm and the rain. Scott Smith had a great time...
