Even the order of the Top 3 rankings was exactly the same in the 4-way Open Class and in 8-way: France - USA - Russia. As of the national anthems for the winners, the audience had the opportunity to learn the Marceillaise. It came four times through the PA system, including the VFS event.
The French delegation celebrated the first sweep in the history of Formation Skydiving competition accordingly. Two Exaclibur swords and the trophy for the winner of the female 4-way category go to France, and the members of the delegation took their time after the ceremony to take plenty of photos with the trophies.
France collected a total of five gold, one silver and one bronze medal. The US delegation takes home two Canopy Formation gold medals and another one in Freeflying. Three silver medals and one bronze medal are coming from the FS competition, including VFS, plus additional bronze medals in Freeflying and Freestyle.
Russia won two bronze medals in Formation Skydiving competition on home turf. It was the second 3rd place finish for Michail Kuznetsov who had also won a bronze medal with a different Sky Panthers lineup at the World Meet 2004 in Croatia. Russia also won a gold medal in Canopy Formation Rotation and two more silver medals.
