Did You Know...

... that NSL-TV presents the final showdown of the World Meet in Menzelinsk?

Citizens of Moscow: members of Kaktus Hunter and Fyodor Mozgovoy
posted Aug 9th, 2010 - Life continues to be challenging for Russians, especially for the citizens of the Moscow area. The NSL News had some up close and personal experiences on the return trip from the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2010. There is still a big questionmark behind the World Championship of Canopy Piloting in Kolomna.

NSL-TV has begun sorting the videos of the competition, and the reviews of this extremely exciting competition begins with the drama of Round 10 in the 4-way Open Class. The incredible battle between Arizona Airspeed and Aerodyne Cypres Maubeuge had gone back and forth round by round until both teams ended up tied in 1st place after eight rounds.

They tied their scores again in Round 9, which lead to the final showdown in Round 10. There was no more time for a jump-off on Wednesday, both teams would have to come back Thursday morning in the case of another tied round.

After the battle of the century: Arizona Airspeed and Aerodyne Cypres Maubeuge
The thriller of Round 10 began with a very good round of the Russian Sky Panthers who had just posted the highscore for Round 9. The Russian 21-pointer followed up well and was the best that was shown on the screen so far. NMP-PCH Hayabusa (-2), Evolution (-1) and Sinapsi (-1) did not get as far as the Sky Panthers and lost points due to infringements.

Then came Airspeed and made the Russian performance look like a preview of the best to come. It was an outstanding jump after the best competition that Airspeed had delivered in the history of this lineup.

All Airspeed members were in agreement that they had done what they could do and that they had left nothing on the table. It was difficult to imagine that the French team would be able to beat Airspeed's 23-pointer.

No reason to be disappointed: Craig Girard with Toshiba, Julien Degen and Guillaume Bernier after the competition
Then came what Airspeed's Craig Girard called the best jump that he has ever seen in the history of the sport, and he was not alone with this statement. Guillaume Bernier, Mathieu Bernier, Julien Degen and Jeremie Rollet put something on the DZ-TV screen that could be called perfect, and videographer Olivier Henaff kept it perfectly in frame.

There is not much more to say. Aerodyne Cypres Maubeuge said it all with the performance in Round 10. France had the best 4-way team in the world last week, and the best jump in the history of the sport came with perfect timing.

Airspeed was not even disappointed. Craig Girard said that there is nothing wrong being beaten with a jump like that: "If that is what it takes to beat us, then we were doing not too bad..."
