It was no surprise that the French team won the gold medals without much competition in this category. Team Bodyflight and Spaceland Blue were hoping that they may have a chance to challenge Deep Blue. Reality was different.
The French team was much better prepared and on a different scoring and performance level after being together with the same lineup since the end of the 2007 season. The earlier scores of the 2010 season confirmed that Deep Blue would be the top favorite in the female category.
Deep Blue was prepared to look for a different challenge, as the French team had done earlier at the other meets. The eyes of the team members were mostly on the scores of the Open Class teams. They would find the challenging numbers on that other leaderboard.
The French all-female lineup was racing with Italy's team Sinapsi for the 6th place in the Open Class, which would have been the last slot in the finals had Deep Blue been eligible for this category. Deep Blue and Sinapsi ended up tied with a 23.6 average after ten rounds.

Aerokart Deep Blue will take a break now, however. This break could last exactly nine months. This is what the team members, at least three of them, are hoping for. Growing the Deep Blue family is on the agenda next, which explains the 9-month period.
The team members have had a lot of fun together, which continued when the competition in Menzelinsk was over. The success was impressive, as well, and the chances are not too bad that Deep Blue might come back with the same lineup next year. The 9-month period could even be over before the World Cup 2011 in Germany...
