Did You Know...

... that the Mega Tunnel 4-way Meet may still have a few open slots?

Participants at an earlier Aerodyne event this year
posted Nov 1st, 2010 - National Skydiving League and Aerodyne are supporting an upcoming wind tunnel event at Paraclete XP called the "Mega Tunnel 4-way meet". The event is a part of the Advance Skydive Project that was launched by Aerodyne earlier this year. The program aims at adding quality to events and helping to develop and improve individual skills.

The NSL News story on 1 September 2010 provided more details of the project and reported some of the activities. Event organizer Cherie Schuch now informed the NSL News that the participation is close to maximum capacity. However, a few slots may still be available.

She made clear at the the same time that this is not a team event: "It is fun 4-way event with people grouped according to similar skills." She added that a skills camp is part of the weekend's program and that additional practice time is available on Friday evening and Sunday morning. Interested people can get in touch with her directly by e-mail: hallschuch(AT)verizon.net.

Event and meet day is Saturday, November 6. Participants have to be there at 9:30 am, the flying time begins at 11:00 am and will be over at 6:00 pm. A dinner at Paraclete on Saturday evening is included in the event package, which offers 45 minutes of flying time for $250 per person.

Cherie and Karl Schuch will be available for coaching and to fly with the participants during the extra time on Friday evening and Sunday morning. They will also fly with Paraclete XP4 members Kirk Verner and Andy Honigbaum to improve their own competitive skills.

Cherie and Karl Schuch have been training and competing with different lineups over the years and attended the USPA Nationals 2010 with Teiwaz. They are both well known in the 4-way community for their inspiring personalities and for their motivation to forward their own experiences to others.

The lineups will be put together according to the individual skills level, and two of the four NSL competition classes will be applied. Lineups, dive pools and the competition draw will be announced as soon as all participants are at the event site and prepared for action.

The additional flying time on Friday evening can be used to warm up for the actual meet on Saturday. The flying time after the event on Sunday would be perfect for instant work on special skills based on the meet experiences the day before.

Cherie Schuch is once again working together with Aerodyne project organizer Louis French who will also be at Paraclete this weekend. Both ran the last reported event very successfully and have more similar events in the works.
