Did You Know...

... that Jérémie Rollett introduces the new French female lineup?

Aerokart Deep Blue at the Dubai Championship 2010
posted Nov 24th, 2010 - The NSL News mentioned earlier that France has a new female 4-way lineup for the next two years. Two of the reigning world champions, Bérangère Duplouy and Françoise Simons-Hamouchi, who won their first gold medals at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2010 and set new standards for female 4-way competition, will not continue next year. Videographer Christophe Chekroun is also not coming back with the new lineup.

The two returning members, Sophie Deremaux and Amélie Tirman, will guide a new lineup for the next two years. The complete lineup of 2008 and 2010 still gets another opportunity to say good-by to the Formation Skydiving community. They will compete together for the last time at the Dubai Championship 2011.

French national coach Jérémie Rollett, reigning 4-way world champion in the Open Class, informed the NSL News that the two new members are well prepared for their top job. They have both been members of the French B-Team lineups.

Laurence Hervé trained and competed with Perros Dunkerque Maubeuge this year. She is 25 years of age and has a total of approx. 1500 jumps. She is also a member of the French military 4-way team that competes at the CISM Championships.

Her team attended four meets in 2010, including the World Challenge 2010, and NSL-TV added the meet videos of this indoor competition to the introduction of the new team members.

The Perros Dunkerque Maubeuge B-Team, with 4-way national coach Marin Ferre in the lineup at the World Challenge 2010, posted an 18.7 average at the indoor competition in Bedford, after a 17.8 indoor average in February at the Aerokart Championship 2010. Dunkerque followed with a 15.6 average at the Coupe de France meet in June and silver medals with a 14.8 average at the French Nationals 2010.

Perrine Sanchez was in another B-Team lineup, C2 77 Chalons. She is also 25 years of age and has a total of 1000 jumps. Her team had a most exciting race against her future team mate at the French Nationals 2010. Perrine Sanchez with C2 77 Chalons placed right behind Dunkerque in 3rd place, two single points behind with a 14.6 average. Perrine Sanchez' team mate with Chalons, Remy Grandcler, will be filming the new national 4-way team in the female category.

There is obviously a big difference between the 14.6/14.8 averages of the former B-Team members and Aerokart Deep Blue's 23.6 average in Menzelinsk this year. However, Jérémie Rollett is sure that he has a great mixture of experience and talent in his new lineup. He sees the young new members as the future for the French national teams.

It is probably also a good time to introduce a new lineup, as the toughest contenders of the past, the UK and US teams, are re-building their national teams. The NSL News has reported the personnel change of the team in 4th place, ISB Air from Germany. Only Norway continues with the same Polaris lineup, as the NSL News reported yesterday.

Most likely, French national coach Jérémie Rollett will send the new female lineup to compete at the Shamrock Showdown 2011, together with the new national 4-way team in the Open Class. It would be no surprise if the new French lineup starts out right in the middle between Deep Blue 23.6 average and the B-Teams' 14.7 average. How about a 19.0 level...?
