Did You Know...

... that Petra van Overveld competed with Skytrax and ISB Air within a week?

Skytrax after a competition jump at SkyQuest 2010
posted Nov 29th, 2010 - The NSL News had introduced the third AAA Class team at the NSL Championship of SkyQuest 2010, Skytrax, on 29 January 2010 and followed up with stories on 27 October 2010 and 18 November 2010. The last update included a live NSL Talk with the team members and a clip with a few videos of the training jumps in DeLand.

The NSL News had promised to follow up with the team's meet videos at the NSL Championship, which have now been uploaded and are ready for reviews. One of the earlier stories mentioned that there was a good reason to take a closer look at the videos and that there would probably be special attention from the three ISB Air members in Germany.

Skytrax Point Petra van Overveld is the new team member of the German national 4-way team in IPC's female category. The new ISB Air lineup has trained in the wind tunnel after recruiting the new member, but the team has not done any outdoor competition jumps so far - except Petra van Overveld with Skytrax.

The AAA Class teams completed only seven rounds officially, as DeLand Shmeland and Teiwaz Falcon started the meet only Saturday morning, while Skytrax had completed three rounds on Friday afternoon. The international team actually completed all ten rounds, and the videos of all jumps are available for reviews.

Event judge Eric Heinsheimer added the numbers for two more Skytrax rounds to his scoresheet, but they were not officially posted on the leaderboard when only seven rounds were completed. However, the new NSL-TV clip includes the videos of the last three rounds.

Skytrax was judged under the same tough standards as all other teams and lost a total of four points in the first seven rounds, additional two points in Round 9. A few bad exits caused the additional damage that allowed Teiwaz Falcon to finish ahead of the international team after the seven official meet rounds.

Skytrax members Paul Hofstee and Petra van Overveld did not get much of a break after the training camp in DeLand and the 4-way competition at the end. They had a few more days in Florida before they returned to the Netherlands.

Then Paul Hofstee had to get ready for the next competition with another international lineup that had signed up for the indoor competition in Rosendaal last weekend. Team Thunder consists of Paul Hofstee, Wesley Claessens, Sven Ibens and Jacco van Eerden.

Petra van Overveld joined her new team ISB Air for the same tunnel competition. The first indoor scores of the new lineup will be posted as soon as they are available. NMP-PCH Hayabusa attended the competition, as well, with new member Dennis Praet at his first competition with Hayabusa. The Belgian national team won this meet, and the NSL News will follow up soon with more information.
