Did You Know...

... that Bu Defiance and DeLand Shmeland XP had a great battle last weekend?

AAA Class winner in 2009: Bu Defiance
posted Dec 18th, 2010 - The NSL leaderboard of the 2010 season still needed another update. The indoor competition at SkyVenture New Hampshire has now changed the team names on the front page one more time and added new numbers to the wind tunnel pages.

All team names and the lineups are up-to-date. Ben Liston, who organized this event for the second time, is still working on the meet report, photos, videos and additional information.

However, the NSL News takes a closer look at the AAA Class leaderboard now, as the names of the four teams are well known in the US 4-way world. Three of the four teams came back after attending the inaugural event last year.

All lineups are not exactly the same, even though the team names are at least very similar.

Centerline and Fallout came back with the identical lineups, even though Fallout has shortened the team name after moving to Sky's The Limit this year.

Fallout also increased the meet average from 17.9 to 18.8 while Centerline dropped a few tenths of a point in average.

The lineup information is more interesting for the other two AAA Class teams. Bu Defiance did not have James "Bu" Klinge in the lineup any longer, as he was competing with his real team, DeLand Shmeland XP, this time.

Scott Latinis with the Amphibious Attack Tigers
Former Airspeed member Dennis Rook took the slot with the three Mass Defiance members last weekend, and this lineup was still competing under Bu Defiance. James "Bu" Klinge needed help, as well, as his Shmeland lineup was missing Center Inside Rodney Cruce.

Scott Latinis filled this slot for the Shmeland defiance and succeeded after a good 10-round battle. Shmeland could not beat Bu Defiance's 22.0 average of last year's event. However, Scott Latinis defeated his team mates with the Amphibious Attack Tigers and won this year's event with Shmeland by two points.

Ben Liston mentioned that both teams were even after four rounds and before "a huge point swing after a couple monster issues in Rounds 5 and 6". This put Shmeland up by 14 points. Bu Defiance then had a strong comeback, especially in Rounds 9 and 10, and lost by only two points. More information will follow soon.
