John D'Annunzio sounded very excited when he mentioned the 8-way part of the competition. He said that seven teams have already registered for the meet. The field of 8-way teams includes his own Paraclete XP8 lineup, the Golden Knights and Roguish Fury, a combination of Perris Fury, Dallas Rogue and a few other high-profile members.
There will also be a French 8-way lineup player coached by reigning world champions Martial Ferre and Damien Sorlin. The NSL News will provide more details of the 8-way lineups later. However, it is obvious that this meet will most likely be the biggest 8-way indoor competition so far.
Unofficial US amateur champion of 2010, DeLand Shmeland XP, has signed up to stay as close as possible to the Big 5 and battle with a second Paraclete lineup (Tim D’Annunzio, Andy Delk, Dennis Rook, Brian Johnson).
The SDC Furies are also back for the 2011 season. They will challenge the female 4-way lineup of the Golden Knights, which is now moving into the AAA/Open Class world of Formation Skydiving competition.
This is still the case, however, the slots are different than how the NSL News reported. John D'Annunzio is not switching from the Point to the Tail slot. He continues in the front piece and will be XP4's Center Outside. John Eagle will be his piece partner in the Point position.
This brings former Airspeed team mates Kirk Verner and Andy Honigbaum back together in the rear piece, Kirk Verner as the XP4 center engine and Andy Honigbaum in the Tail slot that he had with Airspeed years ago. The Paraclete XP Indoor Skydiving Championships 2011 will be the first test for the new XP4 constellation.
