Did You Know...

... that the NSL News will report live from Eloy at the Valentine's Meet?

Arizona Frenzy at the Valentine's Meet 2010
posted Jan 26th, 2011 - The good news of the soon upcoming Valentine's Meet 2011 continue. The NSL News will be reporting live from the competition site at Skydive Arizona in Eloy.

This means that the first direct confrontation between the new Arizona Airspeed lineup and Aerodyne Aerokart will be brought to the on-line audience with all usual features of NSL News live coverage. However, there are more great news, which are not only related to this exciting competition of the two world class teams.

Arizona Frenzy member Jocelyn Bernatchez informed the NSL News that there will also be great participation and competition in the AA/Intermediate Class. Frenzy members Jocelyn Bernatchez and Ian Mackenzie are taking some time off from competing themselves to work on their "Project Home Team".

Jocelyn Bernatchez said that this local 4-way project is an effort to get Arizona locals excited about 4-way and organized into lineups for this year’s USPA Nationals in Eloy. The new project is an offshoot of Frenzy’s monthly "Team 4 a Day" event, which groups local skydivers of varying skill levels with members of Arizona Frenzy to do 4-way and train like a team for a day.

Project Home Team is helping not only to set up teams but also to schedule indoor and outdoor training and provide free coaching. Jocelyn Bernatchez said that participation is continuing to grow: "There are four local AA/Intermediate Class teams so far, and a fifth is in the works that has already started training."

She confirmed that all project teams will be competing at the Valentine's Meet: "It looks to be a fun and exciting weekend at both the AA/Intermediate and the AAA/Open Class levels."

Beccy Brocato and Annie Peterson at the Dubai Championship 2011
Jocelyn Bernatchez and Ian Mackenzie themselves know the values of guided 4-way training and competition, as their Arizona Frenzy team project has been based on player coaching. They competed at last year's Valentine's Meet with Annie Peterson, former Spaceland Blue member who recently came back from the Dubai Championship 2011 with a silver medal, her share of the $15,000 prize money and a new record average for a US team in the female category.

Shannon Pilcher completed the Frenzy lineup at the Valentine's Meet 2010 since the other player coach, Arizona Airspeed's Mark Kirkby, was busy with his own team. Neither Shannon Pilcher nor Mark Kirkby were available at the USPA Nationals 2010, and Annie Peterson's Spaceland Blue and Alpha Armada team mate Becky Brocato filled the slot.

Annie Peterson was running a similar 4-way project with her former team Arizona Divewerkz years ago and has naturally provided her experiences for the new Project Home Team. The NSL News will learn more about the project teams at the Valentine's Meet.
