Did You Know...

... that three Mideast Skydiving League teams won SkyVenture Orlando tunnel time on July 23?

AAA Class winner Fastrax Select
posted Aug 29th, 2005 - Since catching up with the results of the NSL SkyVenture Orlando Competition is on top of the priority list of the NSL News, the next meet weekend has already been processed. This time, the scoring table below presents the winners of the competition on July 23 after handicap.

Fastrax Select competed for the first time with former Synchronicity member Jaqi O'Bryan in the line-up after Elisa Behnk had to give up for the season due to an injury. The Mideast Skydiving League team finished with a 14.2 average after six rounds and significantly higher than the team's season average by then.

Fastrax Select attended two more meets, the last SSL competition on July 30 and the NSL Playoffs 2005 on August 20 - 21 with increasing scores. The USPA Nationals 2005 next week in Perris will feature the final showdown for the top spot of the all-female teams in the USA. Fastrax Select will be one of the challengers for the defending champion Synchronicity.

AA Class winner Vortex
The AA Class had the highest participation on July 23. Nine teams competed for the highest scores before and after handicap. Cross Keys of the MidAtlantic Skydiving League and Fast Forward of the Northern Plains Skydiving League went neck to neck for the first place before handicap. The AA Class favorite Cross Keys had a 1-point advantage after five rounds.

The first place after handicap and 30 minutes of free tunnel time at SkyVenture Orlando went to Mideast Skydiving League team Vortex with Randy Connell (Center Outside), Leah Connell (Inside Center), Chris Grenner (Tail), Christy West (Point) and Scott Saluga (Video). The meet average of the July meet was the peak of the season for the MESL team (6.5 - 7.0 - 8.3) and will be rewarded with the 30-minute certificate.

A Class winner One Fifty One
The winning streak of the Mideast Skydiving League teams that weekend was interrupted in the A Class where the Midwest Skydiving League has dominated the 2005 competition. Five MWSL teams competed on July 23, and the Chicago Sirens took the first place before handicap with a 8.6 meet average.

However, the 30 minutes of free tunnel time went to the team in second place before handicap, One Fifty One. The A Class team from the Sky Knights Parachute Center, with Ryan Dietz, Michelle Fortune, Derrik Krakow, Dan Raymond and Brian Martin (video) in the line-up, peaked at the right time (6.2 - 6.3 - 8.0) and will receive the SkyVenture Orlando certificate.

Rookie Class winner DC3
The Rookie Class team DC3 of the Mideast Skydiving League competed for the first time on July 23 and was lucky that the top scorer of this competition class, Chambersburg 5, finished below the team's previous meet results in May and June. The highest scores in the first two rounds were already promising.

DC3 with Lori Greggory, Doug Lingner, Sara Robinson and Erin Walters finished in first place after handicap on the July 23 meet weekend and won a 10-minute certificate of the NSL SkyVenture Orlando Competition. The team enjoyed the meet and came back for the August competition of the Mideast Skydiving League with even higher scores.

Congratulations from SkyVenture Orlando to all the winning teams.
