Did You Know...

... that five lineups trained for a day with SDC Rhythm XP?

Rhythm members Steve Lefkowitz and Thiago Gomes at the Paraclete XP Indoor Skydiving Championships 2011
posted Feb 17th, 2011 - The NSL News reported on 1 December 2010 that SDC Rhyhtm XP would launch a series of their "Team For A Day" events in Florida this year. The story on 8 February 2011 followed up with information of a Team For A Day last weekend in Sebastian.

Rhythm had just completed the Paraclete XP Indoor Skydiving Championships 2011 with a promising performance, as the self-made team moved up in the unofficial US rankings from 5th place at the USPA Nationals 2011 to 4th place after the windtunnel competition in Raeford.

The move up the rankings was possible due to Perris Fury's recent personnel problems, and Paraclete XP4 benefitted in a similar way. However, the numbers only count, and XP4 is now in 2nd place while Rhythm holds the 4th place.

Dirtdive for one of the Teams For A Day
SDC Rhythm XP held it's 3rd Team for a Day weekend for the winter season at Skydive Sebastian over the February 12/13 weekend. The event has grown every time, and five teams trained last weekend over two days.

Rhythm Point Steve Lefkowitz reported that the participants included skydivers from as far away as Pennsylvania and Georgia, as well as local Florida jumpers. Saturday was quite windy, and the teams got only a few jumps in. The groups made up for it on Sunday with a great day of jumping.

The SDC Twin Otters were in Puerto Rico at the time of the event, and the teams jumped out of the Skyvan, which made for exits that were new to most of the participants. However, Steve Lefkowitz said that the skydives were a lot of fun, and it was rewarding for the Rhythm coaches to hear all the different ways in which the participants got a lot out of the event.

Team For A Day over Sebastian
One team jumper for a day mentioned that the level of jumps he was doing was much more successful than what he was used to at his home DZ. Other jumpers noted what a great opportunity the event was to work on block technique with a coach, especially the new techniques for Block 1 (Offset - Spinner) and Block 13 (Snowflake - Snowflake), which they had never done before.

Another participant, who was just looking to use the event to help jump-start her return to the sport, ended the day saying: "Now I remember what I loved so much about 4-way!"

It was a great weekend for the last scheduled Team for a Day event in Sebastian. However, Rhythm is open to putting together Team for a Day groups over the weekdays if there is enough interest, and there is already another group in the works for March. Anyone who might be interested and has availability on weekdays should get in touch with Rhythm by e-mail. The upcoming Becca's Bootie Boogie also offers the next opportunity for some fun organized jumps this weekend. Steve Lefkowitz also mentioned that there are still a few slots available for Rhythm's player coach 4- and 8-way teams.
