Did You Know...

... that Airspeed's new videographer Bill Schmitz was filming the BJ Worth freefall comeback?

Big-way program: BJ Worth and Rob Laidlaw
posted Feb 26th, 2011 - World Team founder and leader BJ Worth, who has been organizing the Kaleidoscope Dives at the annual SkyQuest event for ten years, is back in freefall action.

He sat out at last year's Kaleidoscope Dives for the first time in the event's history since he was recovering from a shoulder surgery and organized the Kaleidoscope Dives 2010 from the observer position.

His time on the ground is over now. BJ Worth is back in action and currently participates in an 60-way event in DeLand that is related to his new big-way coaching project. He and Skydive University's Rob Laidlaw have developed a plan that teaches new plane captains how to organize big-ways and create new experts in building large formations. Final goal is the new 500-way world record of the World Team.

New Airspeed videographer Bill Schmitz
Rob Laidlaw has been mostly focused in teaching new skydivers and help others to improve their individual skills in the past years. He has recently become pro-active in 4-way player coaching projects, as well. Now he is providing his coaching experiences and academic skills to improve the big-way quality, together with BJ Worth.

The jump in this video clip was BJ's first one after the shoulder surgery last year. Bill Schmitz was filming the jump. He is Arizona Airspeed's new team videographer. He completed his first training camp with the new Airspeed lineup and still lives in DeLand.

He said that he will go back to Eloy in March for the next training camp. Then there is a short break before Airspeed will travel to Bill Schmitz' home town and compete at the Shamrock Showdown 2011. It will be his first competition with Airspeed as the team's new videographer. The pressure will be on...
