Did You Know...

... that Pete Allum and Thomas Hughes discussed the draw before Round 1?

XL dirtdive after the competition draw
posted Apr 2nd, 2011 - Round 1 is in progress, and the first videos of competition rounds will be uploaded soon. Before the competition began, the NSL-TV camera captured the opening ceremony where host Paul Mayer welcomed the teams and competitors.

Then the competition draw was handed out, and Round 3 brings the sequence of only random formations. Other than that, the draw seems to be an average one, maybe even more on the slower side. Thomas Hughes compared it to the Shamrock Showdown 2011 during a brief NSL Talk with Pete Allum before Round 1.

The teams went straight to work after receiving the competition draw, and 63 teams were all over the place to dirtdive and look for creeping space. Thomas Hughes and Pete Allum took a few minutes to discuss the competition draw with the NSL News.

Nice try, Paul...
Paul Mayer's next step after finishing with the opening ceremony was a visit at the judging room where Head Judge Ruth Cooper was briefing the judges. He was on a special mission there.

The NSL News mentioned earlier that he is competing for the first time this year. Bodyflight Black Majik is registered for the Rookie Class meet, and the four players present the random formations flying on their backs.

Paul Mayer visited the judges to make sure that they know which team he is flying with, in case there might be some questionable maneuvers or grip situations. The NSL News was in the judging room when the attempt of manipulating the judges was going on. However, it will not bee too difficult to recognize Paul Mayer's team with the special flying style. The first scores will be posted soon.
