posted Apr 2nd, 2011 - The videos of Round 3 are in the works, while the judges have the challenging job to find the right numbers for the fast sequence of random formations. In the meantime, Piers Hampson provided an update from the freeflying headquarters.

Freeflying Rounds 1 and 2

Round 1 was a Free Round. As always the eagerly awaited crowd favourite free fly competition began with some fantastic displays from all the top teams. Some particularly interesting combinations of moves came from both the British and American teams who after Round 1 sit first and second respectively in the professional division.

Also worth a mention is the amateur division this year with 4 teams set to battle it out for the top spot. Once again some interesting displays from all the teams involved but worthy of not is team Dragon Fly from Spain with one team mate conducting a impressive standing pirouette on the others head.

Round 2 was a Compulsory Round. The first of three compulsory rounds that the teams will be competing in this weekend the standard seems to increase year on year where in 2010 we saw scores of 25points this year teams are hoping for closer to 35 points a round. Once again the British team of Bodyflight Animal and the American team of XP seemed to be amongst the fastest although this time with a differing transition to head down technique, will this make a difference? We shall have to wait and see.
