Joey Jones and the NSL News asked a few questions before the celebration of the probably most important victory for the Belgian national 4-way team began. Hayabusa won the competition by seven points over Arizona Airspeed with a 30.5 average.
The meet average in Bedford matches the scoring record of 30.5 for a 10-round meet that the French national 4-way team posted at the World Challenge 2010. Hayabusa had also scored a 32.9 average at the 7-round meet with a limited dive pool in Roosendaal last year.

In fact, Aerodyne Aerokart Maubeuge did win the second day of the meet with rounds six to ten. Joey Jones and the NSL News asked whether Hayabusa was performing more cautiously to defend the lead and possibly held back some extra energy. The Belgians said that they did not do it on purpose.
The Belgian performance on Sunday was not as dominating as it was on Saturday. Hayabusa won four of the five rounds on the first day of the competition and only tied the highscore of two rounds on the second day. The team members said that much depends on each sequence, which may favor one or another team round by round.
However, they surely have the goal to transfer the success of the indoor performance to the skies. They also said that they did not feel as well prepared for the Shamrock Showdown 2011 as they were for the World Challenge 2011. Travel problems and weather during the training days were in the way of the Belgian team to execute the plan for preparations perfectly in Florida.
It will be interesting to see what the next meet will bring where the three top contenders will meet each other again, probably the World Cup 2011. Arizona Airspeed won the five rounds of the first and the second day at the Shamrock, then ended up in 2nd place on both days of the World Challenge. Hayabusa was in 3rd place on both days of the Shamrock, won the first day of the World Challenge and was in 3rd place on Sunday. France finished 2nd on both days of the Shamrock, then 3rd on Saturday in Bedford and won the five rounds on Sunday. Maybe it will be time for the French team at the next meet. It could be everybody's meet for the next two years at any time. Exciting times...
