posted Apr 15th, 2011 - The NSL News reported on 26 March 2011 how two big-way groups prepare for building a new large formation 500-way world record, BJ Worth with his World Team and Dan BC with the Dubai 500 team.

Both groups run their own big-way camps and events to get the big-way fans ready for their 500-way attempts. Dan BC's P3 Qualifying Events and BJ Worth's World Team Prep Events will keep the big-way fans busy in the runup to the 500-ways.

One of the World Team events is currently happening in DeLand, and the NSL News took a short break from the World Challenge 2011 aftermath. A quick trip to the dropzone around the corner and support by videographers Henny Wiggers and Andrey Veselov allowed the NSL News to put together a video clip of the activities.

BJ Worth has called this event the "Flight of the Phoenix" and created a formation that really looks like the big bird. Today's two jumps were the first 192-ways and did not even try to follow the design for the big goal. BJ's big-way experts will take on the Phoenix on the weekend.

The participants have warmed up with smaller formations in the past days, and Patrick Passe, former French 4-way and 8-way competitor, was leading a group of French skydivers and guests who did some sophisticated 40-ways. Andrey Veselov was filming this group and provided the impressive footage.

Henny Wiggers followed the 192-way and filmed two promising dives. The video also shows a Russian 4-way competitior of the past years interpreting for BJ Worth. Dmitry Fridman, former Crossroads member, is a member of the large Russian delegation of nearly 50 big-way lovers in DeLand. SportsLotto member Egor Gusev, who just competed in Bedford, is another participant. The NSL News will follow up with the Phoenix progression on Sunday.
