posted Apr 18th, 2011 - The NSL News has covered the "Flight of the Phoenix" for a few days, and yesterday's update mentioned a follow-up story with the footage of the successful grande finale on Sunday late afternoon.

Fortunately, videographer Andrey Veselov was still in town on Monday and provided the video footage for a complete coverage from three different angles. His fellow freefall artists Gustavo Cabana and Willy Boeykens were filming the completed 185-way, as well.

Andrey Veselov is presenting the mythical bird, which never dies and is usually a fire spirit with a colorful plumage and a tail of gold and scarlet, from head to tail. Gustavo Cabana and Willy Boeykens were filming it from different angles.

The beautiful and challenging big-way formation is larger than a 4-way and distracted the NSL News from the usual coverage for a little while. This happens once in a while since many Formation Skydiving competitors attend big-way events, as well, and the NSL News follows those events here and there.

There was another event last weekend that attracted the NSL News attention for a similar reason, and the coverage of the Wounded Warrior skydiving part will be squeezed into the normal NSL News agenda as soon as possible.

Then it will be time for the videos of Round 8 at the World Challenge 2011, which also offers many more stories. It was not only an event for the Top 10 teams in the world, as other follow-up articles will show. For now, it is once again time to enjoy the Flight of the Phoenix.
