Did You Know...

... that UK teams will post outdoor scores this weekend?

UK duel winner at the Shamrock Showdown: SonicNutz
posted May 2nd, 2011 - The upcoming weekend brings the British 4-way teams together for the first outdoor meet of the 2011 season. It is not the first competition of the year for many of the UK teams, as a great number of teams attended the World Challenge 2011.

It is also not the first outdoor meet for two of the UK teams. SonicNutz and Boogie Nights both competed at the Shamrock Showdown 2011 and had an exciting 10-round UK battle. Bodyflight Voluntas from Denmark and Teiwaz Falcon were also involved in this race for the 10th place.

SonicNutz won the Shamrock Showdown by two points over Boogie Nights. Katie Woods and Steve Hamilton were in the Boogie Nights lineup by then together with Michael Hayes and Vince Lam. Both teams had their rematch at the World Challenge 2011 where eight other UK teams competed in the AAA Class, as well.

UK duel winner at the World Challenge 2011: Boogie Nights
Boogie Nights came back with a different lineup. Alex Del Cucina from Italy joined Katie Woods, Michael Hayes and Vince Lam this time. This lineup was able to turn the table and outscored SonicNutz by five points in Bedford.

Satori, reigning and defending UK champion in 4-way, was far ahead of any other UK teams and made the Top 10 with a 24.2 average in 8th place. It was Satori's first meet with new Point Ian Hodgkinson, as the NSL News reported earlier.

NSL-TV put together a clip that features all British AAA Class teams in Round 9 and Round 10. It was a total of ten UK teams that competed in the 40-team field of the AAA Class at the World Challenmge 2011.

New Team Bodyflight lineup
A closer look at the British AAA Class leaderboard shows another little surprise. Team Bodyflight, with two former 4-way world champions in the female 4-way category (Amanda Kemp, Sarah Cannon), was not the strongest British female lineup at the World Challenge 2011.

Team Bodyflight has a new lineup, and the Brit Chicks, with Laura MaLelland, Lynne Murray, Maria Russell and Aillee Hardman, outscored Team Bodyflight by one single point (184 - 183). The Brit Chicks had posted a 16.0 average at the World Challenge 2010 and have obviously increased the scoring and performance level significantly.

Unagi and Slot Machines ended up at the bottom of the AAA Class field, which is not a big surprise. Both teams have moved up into the AAA Class competition this year. Unagi had won the AA Class competition at the UK Nationals 2010 with an 11.3 average. The skydiving center in Netheravon is the host of the first outdoor competition in the United Kingdom this year.
