There was another interesting and quite exciting part of the competition that did not take place in freefall. The place of this kind of action was on the ground, mostly in the area between the creeper pad and the boarding area.
The four teams that competed in DeLand were split up into two different groups. The two teams from Sweden, Bardagi and CADO, were naturally closer to each other, and they also shared the same coach, Shannon Pilcher. Final Four DeLand from Germany and Bodyflight Factum from Denmark were driven by Solly "Schleifer" Williams.

The special coaching competition was so interesting because the four teams were engaged in two different and very exciting battles: Bardagi (Shannon Pilcher) vs. Final Four (Solly Williams) and CADO (Shannon Pilcher) vs. Bodyflight Factum (Solly Williams).
Solly Williams had a 1-point lead throughout the first two rounds, as Final Four kept up with Bardagi while Factum was one point ahead in the other race. The situation was different two rounds later. Bardagi was now ahead of the Germans and CADO had caught up with Factum. Shannon Pilcher now had a 1-point lead.
It was a real grande finale when Final Four and Factum both fought back in Round 6. The Germans won the round by two points and the Danes even by three. Factum had turned the meet around at the last moment and won this race for Solly Williams.
Final Four was too far behind to catch Bardagi, and the coaching race ended up tied, with one victory and one second place on both sides. The total of all scores was actually the tie breaker. Bardagi won by two points and Factum by one point, which put Shannon Pilcher one point ahead at the end. Even a small field can create great competition...
