Did You Know...

... that there are two horse races in both the AAA and the AA Class in Perris?

Dirtdive for round one at the boarding area in Perris
posted Sep 5th, 2005 - The AA Class competition is as tight as it was expected. The teams that finished the regular season on the top of the NSL AA Class leaderboard are in pursuit of the medals in Perris with Elsinore Equinox, Arizona Divewerkz, Carolina Ice, Elsinore Allot, Elsinore Vengeance currently leading the field of 43 teams after three rounds.

The three top challengers went neck to neck for two rounds, and Carolina Ice fell a few points behind in round three, while Equinox and Divewerkz are still exactly tied after the opening rounds. The NSL News had the chance for a new interview between round two and three.

Carolina Ice interrupted the team's jump preparation for a short message to the NSL audience. Ice lost round three to Divewerkz and Equinox, and the NSL News hopes that the reason for the lost points was not the distraction by the interview. However, Ice will surely come back and continue the race for the AA Class medals.

The NSL News was fortunate enough to capture almost the whole first round of the AAA Class top contenders. Only Airspeed Velocity slipped through the computer cracks. It is challenging for Omniskore master Tim Wagner to have the most important jumps on DZ-TV all the time. Two active judging panels look at two different screens, and Tim Wagner has to keep his eyes on both screens, while he is uploading the scores.

Top teams get ready to board the plane for round one
All six top teams had good rounds, and DeLand Fire once again managed to squeeze in just one more point than the other five to take the lead after round one. However, round one already showed clearly what to expect for the whole meet. It will be a horse race.

Mass Defiance has taken a 3-point lead in USPA's Advanced Class competition with a 19-pointer in round one, which is only one single point behind DeLand Majik and Fastrax. This is the 7th position on the NSL leaderboard for the AAA Class and USPA's Open Class, and it is far ahead of the rest of the Advanced Class field.

The Women's teams competition between Fastrax Select and Perris Synchronicity began with tied scores in round one, which is probably a confidence booster for the challenger. The second round in the Advanced and Open Class is in progress. Stay tuned.
