Did You Know...

... that the French B-Teams have been going neck to neck?

Monaco Rebootizer Aerial with new lineup
posted May 15th, 2011 - The United Kingdom had the largest delegation of teams at the World Challenge 2011, which was no surprise, of course. The travel distances for the UK teams makes it much easier to attend the event.

However, France was not too far behind, at least in the AAA Class.

Ten UK teams competed in the category with the complete dive pool, and France was only two teams behind. The French 8-team delegation included Rebootizer Aerial though, who compete officially for Monaco.

The French teams were all over the leaderboard and separated into two different categories.

The best five teams from France are all a part of the French national team project and finished in the top third of the leaderboard. Element R and Mars Attacks are not supported by the French federation, and Rebootizer Aerial represents Monaco.

Actually, Element R was at least indirectly supported, as national coach Marin Ferre filled one of this lineup's slots. Element R also had a second player coach.

Former B-Team member with Amada, Guillaume Bajolet, joined the indoor competition, as well.

Mars Attacks was the only French lineup without player coaches or members of the French national teams. Monaco's Rebootizer Aerial competed for the first time with new member Frank Vazille who was introduced by the NSL News on 22 March 2011.

It was not the first meet this year for any of those three French teams in the lower third of the leaderboard.

Element R and Mars Attacks had previously attended the Aerokart indoor competition in February, and the World Challenge 2011 was even the third meet for Monaco after competing at the Dubai Championship 2011 and then at Aerokart.

Jeremie Rollett with his national Open Class team
The same counts for the two official B-Teams who both competed at Aerokart in February, as well. It is always worth taking a closer look at the French B-Teams, as the French national teams and world champions of the future have always been selected from those lineups.

It is quite remarkable how well balanced the French national manager (Jeremie Rollett) and national coach (Marin Ferre) put the B-Team lineups together. They perform and score almost exactly on the same level.

The first lineup, Maubeuge NPC B1 (Julien Delpuech, Mathieu Depres, Adrien Desaignes, Antoine Leleu), won by four points in Bedford.

The second lineup, Maubeuge NPC B2 (Anne-Laure Chretien, Mathieu Colella, Damien Gouriou, Olivier Vernet) had won the Aerokart championship by one point.

NSL-TV now features the five French teams that were not covered during the Top 10 presentation. All ten rounds of the two French national 4-way teams, Aerodyne Aerokart Maubeuge and Aerodyne Deep Blue Defenders, and the other half of the French 8-way lineup, NPC Aerokart Maubeuge, were featured with the Top 10 coverage.
