Did You Know...

... that Best of Relative is the TEAM of the WEEKEND?

AAA Class winners in the Czech Republic
posted May 31st, 2011 - Last weekend's leaderboard is complete with the teams who applied the same competition draw at Skydive Perris, Skydive City and in the Czech Republic. The scores of the 14 teams at the Z-Scrambles in Zephyrhills will be added as soon as possible on a separate leaderboard.

Four of the five teams in the Czech Republic competed in the AAA Class, as a few moved up this year after competing in the AA Class last year. Czech League Director Jan Klapka reported that the weather did not allow any jumping on Saturday. However, five teams came back on Sunday and completed the six rounds.

The NSL News reported earlier that Perris Blitz members Kjetil Nordin from Norway and Flemming Andersen from Denmark helped running the second meet of the Southern California Skydiving League in Perris. Kjetil Nordin was the player coach for Lazy Lightening, and Flemming Andersen was filming the team.

2nd meet of the year for Elsinore Legacy
Event judge Steve Miller said that the windy conditions did not allow the completion of the meet. He also mentioned that Perris Fury has been back in training action with the complete 2011 lineup. Tail Uli Stuewe had to recover from a shoulder surgery, which took quite a while. However, he is back in action, and Fury is looking good.

The Czech teams had their first meet of the 2011 season, while Teiwaz had the third different lineup at the team's third competition this year.

The teams in Southern California had their 2011 season opener in Elsinore in April without participation from Perris. The meet in Perris last weekend had guests visiting from Elsinore. Elsinore Legacy made the 1-hour drive across the mountain to compete at the second meet of the SCSL 2011 season, as well, and took the 1st place in the AA Class competition.

TEAM of the WEEKEND: Best of Relative
It was a significantly slower competition draw last weekend compared to the one on April 2nd. The April draw had 11 random formations in the six rounds, which made it easier to put some scores on the board. Only six random formations were in the AA Class draw last weekend.

In addition, one more block came out the door for the AA Class teams, two of them very time consuming ones (Block 8: Canadian T - Canadian T and Block 13: Spinner - Offset). It was not a big surprise that last weekend's scores could not keep up with the ones in April.

No sequence of the AAA Class draw was identical with the AA Class. The A Class teams had the same sequence as the AA Class teams in Round 1 (8,19) which made it a very challenging round for the teams in the lower category. THE team of last weekend's leaderboard was competing in the Rookie Class. Best of Relative from the Czech Republic managed to tie the 7-pointer highscore for the identical A Class sequence in Round 3 (A,E,P). Congratulations go to the Czech Republic.
