Did You Know...

... that NSL-TV is back on and in courtesy of USPA?

Judges work on round eight
posted Sep 6th, 2005 - Good new for the NSL-TV fans. Meet director Scott Smith discussed the issue with Chris Needles in the USPA headquarters, and the NSL News has permission to upload more video files captured from DZ-TV. There were seemingly misunderstandings as of the purpose of the NSL-TV feature, and the NSL News is grateful that USPA brings allows the popular service back to the audience. The NSL-TV videos of the USPA Nationals 2005 are now presented by the NSL News as courtesy of USPA.

NSL-TV was not back early enough to cover the first round on Tuesday morning. However, it is now on stand-by for capturing round eight for the audience. Round seven did not change anything on the very top of the leaderboard. However, the BIG-6 race for medals seems to have been reduced to three teams competing for the USPA medals.

Further than that, the competition for the gold medal and the slot as the US national team now seems to be 2-way battle between the Golden Knights and DeLand Fire. The DeLand team is probably the only team that would be able to catch the Army team at this point. Airspeed Odyssey is already seven points behind the Golden Knights, which seems to be too far away for a serious chance.

Tim Wagner's makes a point with stamina
DeLand Fire seems to have recovered from yesterday's losses in rounds five and six and tied the Golden Knights score in round seven. The Army team was still very aggressive in the slowest round of the meet and was a few frames faster then DeLand Fire.

Tim Wagner had a very interesting comment when he discussed the Army team's late and successful attack yesterday with the NSL News: "The Knights are trained to be physically very strong. I have seen it over the years that they seem to have more stamina than the other teams toward the end of the day."

He probably has a good point. Monday was a long day for the teams, and rounds five and six came late in the day. DeLand Fire looked fresh and strong throughout the first four rounds and different in rounds five and six. The AAA Class teams had the 6:30 am start this morning, and there are only four rounds to be done today. Stamina might not be the deciding factor today. The videos of round eight get closer to the top teams, and new scores will be posted soon. Stay tuned.
