posted Aug 22nd, 2011 - Nine teams competed at a regional 4way competition in Germany last weekend, and several of them used the meet in Eisenach, home of the former national 4way champions Dädalus, as the final test before the national championships in two weeks.

One of the teams was Neva who also attended the World Cup 2011, a few weeks ago and a few hours away from Eisenach. Last weekend's competition in Eisenach was not as competitive for Neva as the battle with the Italian team Evolution at the World Cup.

The winner last weekend, Mimikri, was too far away, and Wolfpack could not get close enough to Neva. Mimikri had two World Cup competitors in the lineup, as well. Carsten Reese competed with Südwest in 8way, while Mimikri 4way team mate Jupp Kampmann was in the Saar 8 lineup. Südwest won this internal German 8way battle at the World Cup (10.7 - 5.8) clearly.

Volker Seitz and Mo Thomas completed the Mimikri lineup, Markus Bruder was filming the team. Mo Thomas used to be a member of the legendary and very popular German 4way team in the female category, the Chicas, who represented Germany at several international competitions over the years before Incognito Leutkirch/ISB Air took over the reigns in the female 4way competition in Germany.

The Chicas had resisted to give away the top spot for a while and still won the last two battles at the national championships and the World Cup in 2009. The Chicas then retired, and ISB Air competed for Germany at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2010. Former Chicas member Susa Serra competed with ISB Air in Russia.

One of the other former Chicas member, Sylvia Maier, fills open slots for competitive German lineups here and there, while Petra Bärenfänger is now Center Outside for Final Four DeLand. Mo Thomas attended her second meet with Mimikri this year. ISB Air had bad luck this year when Sarah Hajooze got injured in an off skydiving accident. Anne Heinrich, Petra van Overveld and Pia Weingart are now filling slots while they wait for their Center Outside's comeback.

NSL-TV now features the Italian - German duel between Evolution and Neva at the World Cup. The scores include once again the point deductions for both teams, and the combination of the videos and the extended leaderboard offers the opportunity for teams, competitors and judges to evaluate not only the performance of the teams but also the one of the judges.

Especially Evolution's videos offers plenty of interesting footage for the judges. The Italian team lost a total of 19 points in eight rounds. Evolution ended up tied in 17th place with Neva and would have rather been in the same battle with Unagi a few slots higher up. The Italian team lost many points due to bad video angles at and after the exits, even though some of the calls were close and arguable.

Evolution coach and Italy's Team Manager at the World Cup, Sinapsi bronze medalist of 2006, Livio Piccolo, could not see the results of his work on the scoreboard this time. The 10.3 average doesn't reflect the the 12.6 potential of his team. Neva lost five points in Saarlouis, and both teams have the opportunity to score higher at the upcoming national championships in both countries.
