Did You Know...

... that Skyservice won the national 2011 title in the Czech Republic?

Awards for the teams at the Czech Nationals 2011
posted Sep 4th, 2011 - The national championships in the Czech Republic went by almost unnoticed while the teams from the United Kingdom and from Germany received all the attention. Several countries held their nationals after the World Cup 2011, and the Czech Republic was one of those.

Skyservice, the Czech national 4way champion between 2005 and 2008 came back to win this year's title and take it away from the Bad Boys. The 2010 champion has a new team member, as the NSL News reported earlier this year, and the new lineup is in a building phase. Skyservice took advantage of the situation and walked away with the next set of gold medals.

Jiri Jirman, Stepan Tuma and Jan Lukavec have been in the winning lineups since 2005, either with Skyservice (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011) or with Skywalkers (2009). The Bad Boys could only take the title so far when this 3-way, with Zivny Zbynek in the past, and with new member Robert Renc this year, did not compete in 2010.

Rookie Class award ceremony
There was no serious competition for this year's gold and silver medal. The real battle took place for the 3rd place in the AAA Class where three teams went neck to neck throughout the ten rounds. The new team Velocity of Life came out of the gates strongly and held the 3rd place until Round 7, over the actual bronze medalist Crazy Dragons and Accord, who ended up tied in 4th place with Velocity of Life.

Crazy Dragons were six points behind the 3rd place after the first three rounds and slowly began to turn it around from then on, round by round. They took the lead for the first time in Round 8 and increased it to a 5-point victory over both opponents at the end.

The situation was actually the same in the Rookie Class competition where Best of Relative and Sky Walkers exchanged their blows in a race for the 2nd place. The actual silver medalist had the highscores only in four rounds, while the bronze medalist won five rounds. The 13 - 7 outcome of the fast Round 9 was the winner for Best of Relative.
