Did You Know...

... that Fenix mastered the first AAA Class competition with the highest meet average?

X-Dogs lineup
posted Sep 6th, 2011 - The national championships in Brazil are always one of the last events every year. The Nationals 2011 took place last weekend, and none of the participating teams had competed at the World Cup 2011.

However, three of the team names on the current leaderboard have been on other ones this year before competing for the national honors, and the Brazilian national team CTR Optimum has been on NSL leaderboards for many years. The NSL News story on 26 May 2011 was still wondering whether the Brazilian CISM lineup, X-Dogs, might be able to put up a fight for CTR Optimum this year.

The X-Dogs finished in 2nd place, posted the sole highscore for Round 9 and outscored Optimum's second lineup over the 10-round meet. The 14.4 average was still not enough to seriously challenge the national team of the past years.

First time in the AAA Class: Fenix
The AAA Class leaderboard includes three all-female lineups, and the (F) behind the team names allows the identification of those teams. Fenix attended the team's 5th meet of the 2011 season, which includes the CISM championships. The CISM scores are nor listed in the team records since dive pool and competition rules are different.

The 9.7 average was the team's best result this year and won the 4way competition in the female category in Brazil. It also brought the 4th place of nine teams in the AAA/Open Class competition.

The Fenix scores at the Brazil Nationals 2011 have an even higher value than it may appear with the first view. The national championship was the first competition for Fenix in the AAA Class and with the complete dive pool. The 10-round meet included sequences with slot switchers and memory. Fenix mastered the biggest challenge of the 2011 season with the best meet average.
