Did You Know...

... that iFLY Orlando's monthly FSL Tunnel Kicker keeps growing?

FSL Tunnel Kicker September participants
posted Sep 10th, 2011 - The NSL News reported on 26 August 2011 that iFLY Orlando hosted the second "FSL Tunnel Kicker", a promotional event for the FSL community. The first event was held in July, followed by the reported one in August.

The September Kicker took place last Tuesday and hosted once again a growing crowd. Word has spread now in Florida that iFLY Orlando is again supporting the Florida Skydiving League, just as it used to be when the windtunnel was built in 1998. That was one year after the Florida Skydiving League was launched, and both parties worked closely together.

This time, even several skydivers from the Miami area made the long trip to Orlando to take advantage of free flying time and free coaching. Rodney Cruce, Robert Chromy, Katie Woods, Ari Perelman, Bob Byrne and Kurt Gaebel were providing instructions and were flying with the participants.

iFLY Orlando and Florida Skydiving League sponsored the September Kicker with two hours of flying time. However, there were so many participants this time that the group had to be split up. The stand-by area in the flying chamber would not be able to accommodate so many flyers. A shift change was arranged after the first 30 minutes of each of the two hours of flying time.

All individuals were able to enjoy more than enough free flying time, which was used efficiently under the supervision of the coaches who sponsored the event with their guidance and experience. The flying sessions ranged between solos and 4way groups with player coaches.

The Florida Skydiving League had followed up with a 2on2 tunnel camp after the July Kicker, which was sold out and very successful. This time, the first slots of the new camp on September 17 were taken on the spot. The FSL 2on2 camps offer a more professional training environment, as the free FSL Tunnel Kicker is a social and promotional event with a more casual atmosphere. Slots for the September camp might still be available.
