Did You Know...

... that Skygod Skygodsson attended the 1st Annual Blocktoberfest?

1st Annual Blocktoberfest at the NSL Plaza
posted Oct 22nd, 2011 - The hot and gruesome summer in Florida seems to be over, and the first beautiful days of the autumn motivated the skydiving industry neighbourhood near the NSL office to organize the 1st Annual Blocktoberfest. The small business plaza near the DeLand Airport and Skydive DeLand accommodates several smaller and larger businesses of the skydiving industry.

Blue Skies Mag is one next door neighbour of the National Skydiving League office, and Merlin Suits is on the other side. The next entrance is to the office of John Sherman's and Nancy LaRiviere's Jumpshack. Nancy LaRiviere was more or less the instigator of a neighbourhood block party after sharing a few beers once in a while with some neighbours.

Eventually, the idea materialized, and a date was set. All offices were closed for business and opened for the social event. Cars were moved away from the lot and chairs from the desks to outside. A most beautiful afternoon and sunset was the perfect scenery for the inaugural event.

Barbecue expert Robert Chromy with Skygod Skygodsson
Teiwaz member, professional coach and barbecue master Robert Chromy was invited to provide his skills and his home made world famous sausages. Blue Skies Mag's Skygod Skygodsson oversaw the cooking procedures as the host of the event. His editors, Lara Kjeldsen and Kolla Kolbeinsdottir, offered Skygod Skygodsson for other instant advice and wisdoms, as well.

The event took place right in front of the NSL office, and it was impossible to leave the cameras untouched. The short video clip begins with a very close look and an evaluation of the mysterious brew that was sponsored by Blue Skies Mag. Lara Kjeldsen and Kolla Kolbeinsdottir said that this is the stuff that makes the good stories.

The NSL News staid away from this bowl as there was still serious work to be done later...
