Did You Know...

... that the Hawks caught up with the Owls on Sunday?

Owls on Sunday

posted Nov 21st, 2011 - The weather was better on Sunday for the Kaleidoscope Divers and the 4way teams. However, it was still windy and cloudy at times, and it was very difficult for the event management to develop any momentum. All participants tried to make the best out of the situation.

This meant for the bigways fans to be on alert all the time and for the 4way teams to get as many rounds completed as possible. Sunday was the travel day for many participants, and the day is usually shorter than the first three days.

Both bigway groups, the Hawks and the Owls, still completed a few jumps on Sunday. HTH from the Northern Plains was the busiest 4way team and almost completed all ten rounds before the team members had to rush to the airport in Orlando. SDC Tempo, with SDC Rhythm XP member Steve Lefkowitz as the player coach, came the closest with eight rounds. Only six rounds counted for the rankings, and the Carolina Fly Girls won the gold medals. The NSL News will follow up later with more meet information.

The Owls had the better start on the earlier days of the weather-plagued event. NSL-TV had featured some videos of the first jumps. The Hawks had some problems with the fall rate at the beginning in an unusual way. The center was falling too fast.

This was fixed quickly, and the Hawks caught up jump by jump in the bigway competition for the better jumps. Eventually, the Hawks had just as much fun as the Owls with great quality jumps on the last day. The new NSL-TV video features both groups with similar jumps from the the same two camera angles.

Andrey Veselov once again provided the footage. Videographer George Katsoulis also created an online service where video footage and photos can be downloaded from. SkyQuest Florida 2011 is over now, and BJ Worth and NSL are working on plans for the first SkyQuest event in Central Europe in the summer of 2012. The NSL News will follow up soon.
