... that Belgian's Spa HayaBusa opens the 2005 season at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2005?

Spa HayaBusa Happy End in Croatia with Majik coach Doug Park
posted Feb 10th, 2005 - The NSL News reported several times of events in Europe in the past years. The Belgian 4-way team HayaBusa was featured several times due to the impressive team progression and winning results at the events of the European Skydiving League. Spa HayaBusa finally qualified in 2004 as the Belgian national team, and the NSL News continued to cover HayaBusa's road to and the performance at the world meet in Croatia 2004. Spa HayaBusa recently provided the NSL News with another team update and the plans for 2005.

The 2004 season was very successful for the Belgian national 4-way team, Spa HayaBusa. The young team managed to win all Belgian meets it attended in 2004, outscoring the defending national champions, the professional military team NMPV, in all of those competitions.

Thus, the team was selected as the Belgian national 4-way team for the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2004 in Croatia. On top of that, Spa HayaBusa also won the Aerokart Indoor Challenge in the French wind tunnel in Paris and the European Skydiving League Championship 2004 for the second consecutive time. Spa HayaBusa won the ESL Championship with a team record score of 19.3 over a 10-round meet.

Last not least, HayaBusa impressed the observers with an agressive and dynamic team performance at the world meet in Croatia. HayaBusa finished in 6th position with a 17.8 meet average after losing seven points due to exit NJ's and six additional points by three Block 12 penalties in the same round. The total damage of 13 points reduced the meet result by more than one point average. However, the team was still happy with the outcome, and all team members were very much looking forward to begin training for the new 2005 season as soon as possible.

Spa HayaBusa in action
HayaBusa's winter break in Belgium was bridged with some wind tunnel training in Paris, France. The first skydiving training camp is scheduled for March at Skydive Deland in Florida. DeLand Majik member Doug Park will continue to be the team's coach. Spa HayaBusa has already been training with Park in 2004, and the team feels that his coaching has made a big difference.

HayaBusa will continue as a weekend team and will be training mostly in Spa, Belgium. Skydive Center Spa offers the team excellent conditions and supports the team with all possible means. The Belgian dropzone is on its way to becoming one of Europe's nicest, largest and most professional training centers.

Industry manufacturers Performance Designs, Sunpath and Airtec also support the team with extremely good team deals. HayaBusa plans to make 400 training jumps in 2005 and will attend a total of eight competitions. The first HayaBusa test on the competition schedule is the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2005, which will conclude the training camp in Deland. The Belgian team will compete with several other inernational world class teams at the FSL event on March 19 - 20.

Spa HayaBusa hopes to break through the 20-point average mark consistently this year. All team members know that 400 team jumps is very little compared to other international top teams. However, the team is prepared to give 120% input to achieve the team goals.
